Georg Schücking
DC15 - Sydvatten
Georg Schücking joined the Neuten Project in January 2026 to research market behaviour and commercialization strategies for energy neutral wastewater treatment systems as Doctoral Candidate 15 at Sydvatten and Lund University. He previously served as an international civil servant in the Technical Advisory Unit of UN-Water at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. During his career in the global water sector he has worked on market intelligence, consulting for innovative water technologies, and international water policy. His experience includes technology scouting for utilities and multinational equipment suppliers, implementing water and sanitation strategies in large public organizations, and advising water start-ups on market entry.
Georg holds a BSc in Environmental Engineering from the Technical University of Munich and an MSc in Water Resources Engineering from Lund University. As part of his graduate education, he joined the Lienhard Research Group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to research resource-efficient desalination technologies, resulting in four publications and a conference presentation on this topic.
